Silvia Prieto

This is a pleasant watch, with some amusing moments. The plot is a little quirky but in a charming way. I felt the main character has a certain naivety, perhaps like Amelie (from the film of the same name). I like that the main character also provides narration, so we hear her thoughts when she's not on screen. It was a little bland & mundane half way through. Its somewhat contemplative but overall I enjoyed it, so I'd recommend it but I wouldn't say its one of my favourite world cinema titles.

More dialogue driven than Rapado, and with enough characters and plot to almost be convolutedly soapish if it weren't so resolutely deadpan. Being that it concerns inert, aimless late-twentysomething life i feel like this should really hit home for me, but it might actually be so subdued and detached that it threatens to lose some resonance. Still, even if it's not quite an Argentinian Jarmusch doing Frances Ha, it comes pretty close.
