Silent Conflict

This Hopalong Cassidy entry felt like a standard western for the longest time, before things got hypnotic. Enjoyed that twist.

I liked this one: it was different, and helped me to attach a name to a familiar face and voice: Earle Hodgins. If there's a Snake Oil Salesman in your Western, Hodgins probably played him. Here, his "herbal tea" and soothing voice coax Hoppy's pal Lucky into walking off with the cattle money. Cassidy's cool head prevails, with or without the "help" of Andy Clyde. This has All the Usual Stuff, especially including gorgeous scenery and locales that have all probably been paved over by now.
