The panicked friends are attacked by ghostly creatures, never sure whether they are experiencing gruesome reality or startling hallucinations.

Generic supernatural/psychological-horror/slasher about a group of cliche teens secretly living out a PSA about unsafe psychedelic usage in the woods, whose movie has a twist ending that...surprise! It was just a generic slasher the whole time. Some serviceable acting and okay cinematography make the dumb script almost watchable enough for the most part. However, ultimately the movie disappoints on the possibilities promised by both the film's premise and poster.

It's got a decent style but after a while you just get tired of a film clearly filmed during the day that's been darkened and then blue'd in post production, not to mention the jump-out scares where nothing happens. The acting is standard fair for a horror movie and the twist is easily guessed. Basically it's a j-horror only with shroom induced "trips" to justify those kinds of visual effects. Overall it's not very good but there's far worse out there.

I loved the introduction, the relationships between the group show at the beginning. But after a while, it gets very silly and although I could see the whole thing I got a little bored.

The thing about doing a good twist ending is that you need to sell the audience on the "original" story. And Shrooms fails HARD on that count. By the time you get what you want, you've spent so much time frustrated that you're not getting it that it doesn't matter anymore. And when you have an entire cast supposedly hallucinating, fucking use it.

An "Irish" film filled with annoying generic american teens portraying the same unlikeable characters as a trillion other B movies.

On the one hand, it's not godawful. On the other, it comes damn close. I really liked the premise, which allows for kids to make moronic decisions and have some freaky visuals. But what's the deal with using a feral kid, a burlap sack wearing kid ánd a man in robes as antagonists? It's all over the place with a second half that runs out of steam pretty fast.

Not even bad in a funny way, just plain awful in an extremely dull and irritating way.

A boring, stupid film, but when that chick says "I overdosed on the heroin of shrooms!" I blew my drink out my fucking nose, so I guess it wasn't a total waste.

Well, frazzle my ding-dong and call me a loony, we have a ferociously awful and thinly plotted horror with a twist ending worthy of an M. Night Shyamalan movie. This was entertaining for all the wrong reasons, and the whole setup is only made possible because of the completely nonsensical decisions of the moronic lead characters. Yeah, no.

Well-photographed monotony. The real stars of the film are woods of Northern Ireland. The film is a product of it's time, and tries hard to emulate American horror films of the early and mid 2000's. With a lot of script polishing, you could've had a decent genre film. Some good acting and cinematography keep it from being truly bad.

Cinematography is strangely compelling in what is otherwise a predictable, by-the-numbers slasher.

The cow rules! Not too bad of a movie as I thought that this would have been a joke, but it wasn't. Easily guessed ending, but still some good kills and some fairly decent acting.

Lacks any kind of suspense and has an ending signposted right from the beginning.

The only reason this film even gets as high a score as it does from me is that it claims to be a mindfuck from the description of itself. Having said that though, it is far from a comprehensive mindfuck as it could be, which would have made it much better. Shrooms follows some really generic horror movie stereotyped kids as they get high on mushrooms and aren't sure what's going on. This is another one of those films that ends showing you something different from what acutally went down.

Why, oh why would someone take a shroom that has been specifically described as freakin' most deadly/dangerous of all? The face on the girl (while eating it anyway) is priceless in itself. At that moment I thought, yeah, whatever.
