Showdown

This is almost worth watching for the hero's despondent mother alone. The halls are carpeted. The janitor is an ex-cop. The villain has a dojo where he trains teens to have no mercy at an underground bare-knuckle boxing event that brings in an audience of a lot of suburban mom looking women, except for our hero's mom, who never sees him fight once. Hero's comedic sidekick looks lost on set. Hero's climactic kiss is covered in blood and one of the grossest things I've ever seen.

Billy Blanks tries to sell a 35 year old looking high school student his Tae Bo VHS tapes in this blatant Karate Kid ripoff. Thought it would be good for some "so bad it's good" laughs, but it's just plain bad. Like Billy's acting.

Not only did they rip off The Karate Kid's plot but the theme song also sounds a lot like Time After Time. Did not expect to see a younger Christine Taylor. Kids looked way older than high school. Billy Banks was not as intriguing as Pat Morita but it was neat to see a backstory. Everyone had horrendous dialogue. Not sure which demographic this movie was aimed for since it started with a whole "high school kids are bad" setup. Fav scene: final fight.

Belated rip off of Karate Kid, with Billy Blanks as the kung fu janitor. Uninteresting fights, lame attempts at humor, generally awful.

Okay let's be honest this isn't a good movie but I do have a soft spot for it and it entertains.
