There's wall-to-wall Smiths songs (how the F does an indie film afford that?) & characters occasionally speaking in song lyrics (too often actually) & teens who mostly seem real & like Moz lyrics brought to life: they're aware of how life is likely to go for them & feel things deeply. But like many teens, they lack wit & seem overwrought. 1 couple in the film is really interesting b/c the emotional stakes of their problem are huge, but 2 others' primary traits is to insist the Smiths are great

I'm a huge Smiths fan, but this is just too much, even for me. It's 90 minutes of constant Smiths references on top of Smiths references, with little else other than contrived cliches. I think maybe this would have appealed to me when I was a pretentious kid, being as it feels like it was written by one, but not today. Sub par acting with characters that are absurd, unlikable, and unrealistic. I hate this movie. It's a disservice to a great band. As a Smiths fan, I wish I had never watched it.

The highlights of this movie are the two beautiful co-lead women Helena Howard (Cleo) and Elena Kampouris (Sheila). The story borders on inane, and the male characters and misfits are mostly tedious and tiresome. The music is OK. Barely worth watching, if only for the hot ladies.
