The plot had the potential to at least be watchable, but director Travis Mills, with his 12 westerns in 12 month project, is struggling to actually tell compelling stories. Even with brutality as a key ingredient, She Was the Deputy's Wife (2021) is fumbled to the point you just don't care by the time the reveal comes.
