Shchors

Shchors (1939) is a grand production ordered by Stalin to focus the propaganda at the Ukraine region of the Soviet. Assigned to the important director Aleksandr Dovzhenko with the aid of actress Yuliya Solntseva. And visually this floats well and looks impressive. Much better then those early communist sound movies. The tale isn't as great though. Unless one believe in the message, this quickly becomes 2 hours of shouting political slogans with a little killing thrown in for variation.
