Haworth is a show biz producer who has a number of ex-girlfriends that he has beaten over the years. He is now engaged to two girls- Lisa and Trenna. After drinking and starting a fight with Sim, Haworth is found dead in his apartment. Everyone has a reason to kill him, but most of the blame is falling on Sim and his love Trenna. If they are to be cleared, it is up to Aunt Melissa to find the killer - and she thinks she knows who is was. (imdb)

The murder mystery in Shadow of Doubt is not that interesting. Average at best. It's the performance of Constance Collier as the reclusive old aunt that's the life of this movie. And the director knew it because the story was almost forgotten to focus on her adventures outside the house for the first time in 20 years! And she's a natural! A real pro. Ricardo Cortez, Virginia Bruce and Regis Toomey especially did their bits well, but nobody could touch the recluse handling a gun!
