Now I saw it. I still hate it. Everything about it. I think I smiled once, maybe even laughed at that one point where one girl is lying naked with sushi on her body, waiting for her donkey boyfriend to come home. Pretty hilarious. Anyway, it's boring and despicable in all its "hail fashion and spend too much money on shoes and cosmopolitans-ness". Which is what comes to mind after watching it, much more than its acclaimed "love"-story. And the acting? SUUUUUCKS.

This movie seemed to go on for days, it was like eight hours of boring drama that I didn't care about. I'll never understand why Sarah Jessica Parker is the main character of this, she should have stuck to playing witches (Hocus Pocus).

Packed with rampant consumerism, people not forgiving or listening to one another (seriously it's 2 hours into the film before forgiving starts) and tons and tons of product placement. I haven't watched the show so maybe that nostalgia's necessary to appreciate this fully but I think I should laugh more than twice. Once at pants-pooping and another, which really isn't due to Sex and the City, when a phone is tossed into the ocean because it reminded me of Gob from Arrested Development.

COVID has forced us to work from home, so my wife has now finished this entire series during her lunch breaks. I have caught episodes here and there. I say this only to show that I am familiar with the show. However, I am not sure why we needed a nearly 150-minute film. I enjoyed this slightly more than when I saw it in the late-2000s. Oh well, obviously I am not the target audience here.

Something about watching the minor romantic problems of really, really rich people gets exhausting. It also feels amazingly long, somehow much longer than just watching five consecutive episodes of the show would feel. A character shits her pants for comedy at one point.

Criticker's Probable Score? 69. No joke. Also, endearingly optimistic. Honestly, didn't make it to the end. This is No. 1 of an upcoming series of movies that I would have never, ever watched but have now seen thanks to my lovely new girlfriend. This was the worst of the bunch by a long shot. Offensive, empty-headed, consumerist fantasy nonsense. I think this stuff is legit unhealthy for people who don't know any better. 2.5 hours?! That's just sadistic.

Condenses a season's worth of character arcs into one long movie. At two and a half hours it seems to go on forever, which really hurts the fact that it can be genuinely entertaining at times. Other times it's just an extended fashion show (sometimes literally). It also has a core conflict that could be solved in five minutes if anyone would actually talk about it. Still, I was expecting worse. It's not as good as the show could be, and there aren't enough laughs, but it passes the time.

The phrase "for series fans only" has never applied more - these Goldenish Girls are having a good time at least, and if the outfits and set design are enough, have at it, but there's no reason for these vapid characters to bore us with their easily fixable romantic problems for *2 1/2 hours* (!!!) - unfortunately wearing out their welcome long before the length of a two-parter TV episode, which is where this really belongs. Perpetual ray-of-light Bergen is like an oasis in the desert!

This is one of those movies designed around a trend that led everyone to disaster but was still fanatically popular because it made them feel like they were gods and the Earth was their slave, at least for a few moments. In addition, it is a slobby plot based around snobbish and horrible people with emptiness in their souls.

At first, the movie was so boring and it felt like a parody movie or random something, but you'll empathize with the characters as the movie progresses. The resolution between Carrie and Mr. Big is so abrupt. I don't think broken hearts mend that easily - like sending some emails to win someone's heart back! It worked though. It would have been better if there have been a series of episodes where Mr. Big is working hard to win Carrie's heart back. It could have made it more interesting.

The whole movie is 4 women consuming everything. Money, food, clothes and even husbands. It's slightly entertaining, but the movie runs two and half hours. I think it's trying to show strong, independent female characters, but all they obsess about is men and finding love. It comes off as the exact opposite. The jokes, if you can call them that, aren't funny. I don't think I laughed a single time. They are supposed to be attractive, but at this age they just look pathetic. The acting is bad.

Awful vapid drivel that plays to the ugliest materialistic whims of my sex. We are supposed to squeal when we see the walk-in closet and cameos of countless superfluous designer items. I felt insulted as a female and as a fan of the original show that this movie was made with such witless vulgarity full of endless product placement, racism and toilet jokes. I like fluffy chick flicks but I lament this trash because it is the turgid waste byproduct version of a clever and FUNNY tv counterpart.

Not really a disappointment but still not very good; for one the length was a real problem, nearly 2 1/2 hours. Hudson's character as Carries assistant was pointless, and the whole sub-plot was pretty weak. Despite the TV series presence of witty dialouge, SATC is a medicore comedy.

The show had some witty writing, the scenes were natural and the characters reactions to situations were fathomable and unique. The film however, was a decadent faux pas. Barely preceding the GFC with its message of living an idealized, expensive and materialistic lifestyle. It was kept afloat by its vicarious attraction to impressionable women but even they would have expected more than the coin flip ending and the forced laughter over a food poisoned Charlotte.

I knew I would be disappointed, but had to see the movie anyway. I loved the series, but as I feared, the girls' dynamic just doesn't work well on the big screen. They are better left in my living room where I can flip the channel when Carrie starts to get whiny or Charlotte's naivete makes me throw my remote at the screen.

Admittedly very cheesy, and some of the character plot lines go completely against their previously established personalities. I still enjoyed it to a degree as I'm a huge fan of the show, and there's some fairly good laughs to be had. I wouldn't recommend it to fans of the show as the final episode offered the perfect amount of closure, and I wouldn't recommend it to those who are not fans of the show as it's not very good. It seems I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Oh dear.

A film that is more about selling shoes and dresses than about women, or even people in general. It literally has no meaning or point to exist. The TV show was a solid enterprise that did not interest me personally, but was not without its merits. After just finishing the entire show on DVD and watching the film for a second time, this really feels unnecessary. The characters have reached the point where the show needed to end, and continuing their stories like this seems contrived. The whole Carrie-Big -scenario reaches the point where it's more a travesty of the series, and especially Miranda's problems feel artificial. The product placement is too apparent and Hudson's character is useless. As are the extended cut's additions.

In no way this movie manages to adapt to the cinema situation and with so much real time passed it feels strange to reconnect to the plots. Speaking of which, plotwise there is not much, the series never was about plot really, right, but to move to the big screen you should have picked one of two choices: go plot or magnify style. The movie succeeds in neither and the insight the series used to unfold on relations between men and women (in episodes) is not to be found here.

A solid effort. This movie took a long time to make, and wasn't going to make everyone happy; I accept that. I feel as though my biggest problems with it--technically--had to do with the studio influenced script changes, and the stunt castng of Jennifer Hudson. That said, it is refreshing to see a summer blockbuster headlined entirely by women, (women over 40, at that) and by the looks of the line-up when I went, they were waiting their whole lives for this movie.
