This feels like a movie that never fully realizes its potential due to budgetary constraints. It feels like parts definitely could have been fleshed out more. For example instead making it more of an existential comedy about the cult they turn it into a more intimate story about the couple's relationship. Overall they make up for the lack of budget with some great casting. Harmon and Waititi are definitely the highlights.

The movie is committed to its absurdity, I will give it that. Largely unpleasant, totally perplexing, and just plain not funny enough for me to enjoy the ride.

Worth it for the Ohio story.

Cool concept, but it never quite finds its footing. The script felt a bit like an afterthought though there were occasionally great set pieces. Channels Survive Style 5+ but never nails down the visual aesthetics and, well, the killer sense of style. As is feels too much like the umpteenth indie comedy with a intriguing hook that never develops to its full potential.
