This was such a sweet story about a lonely old woman who pretends she has a son fighting in the war to her gossiping old friends. And then the guy she's taken the the name for her son from appear and they end up bonding. Beryl Mercer is adorable as the sad old lady and Gary Cooper filled his spot as the rebel soldier turning good for his new 'mom'. The movie has got it's quirky faults that was normal during the first years of sound film, but looking past that the movie was a mellow delight.
