Drama

Set in the near future, a small gang of revolutionary students are hidden away by a small-time thief. While they are hiding, all but the thief take turns having sex with an unhappy (and perhaps unwilling) girl who has had the misfortune to get involved with them. Through news reports, they discover that someone has been terrorizing police stations and communist headquarters in Japan just as they had hoped to do. (ONiE)

This was pretty hit-and-miss for me, with every scene of interest followed up with a dull sex scene.

Have now watched three of these early Wakamatsu films, and all three began with footage of protest actions: clearly he wants to respond to the mood of the times. Exactly what that response consists of is hard to fathom, especially here, where the revolutionary movement depicted seems mainly interested in the right of men to access female bodies by force. Odd. The 15 minutes of pleasant low-key piano (and guitar) music that starts from about minute 46 gives that quarter of an hour a nice feeling.
