Secrets of a Call Girl

Not quite what I expected, for whatever reason. This is a pretty well put together, if unexceptional, crime drama, nicely shot and acted. It changes course a couple of times throughout, by turns gritty, sleazy, violent and ultimately quite sad. The lovely Fenech gets to do a bit more acting here than other films I've seen her in, and she carries it off rather well. Gets bonus points for Conte's dye job. Worth a look.

A young girl starts dating a tough gangster because she's attracted to the danger, but before long he's pimping her out and she's faced with a difficult struggle to get out from under his control. Edwige Fenech is gorgeous, and the flick starts out at a lightning pace, but the momentum completely stalls in the final third once she gets away from the mob. The whole soap opera ending with her son and the doctor was pointless.

A decent enough drama but not as graphic as you'd expect. The biggest flaw for me was the fact that I couldn't comprehend why Anna ever had anything to do with Guido.
