Secret Headquarters

The few decent moments in Secret Headquarters are obfuscated by a terrible script that makes the children much more obnoxious than they needed to be. The film aims to be cheesy family fun but misses the mark, leaving you struggling through a tired plot with mediocre CGI, bad characters and a lingering sense that this film was made more for the producers and cast rather than the audience.

“Secret Headquarters” is a fun, harmless superhero adventure for kids and families. It's not going to win any awards for originality or storytelling, but it delivers on what it promises: a good time with likable characters, solid visual effects, and superhero action.

The Adam Project's Walker Scobell and Shanghai Noon's Owen Wilson star in this fairly standard "kids take on bad guys" action film. Story is kind of haphazard but the kids should like it.

Why are they making the bad divorced dad into a hero? I feel like the heroism wasn't really earned and the power source wasn't adequately explained. This movie wasn't sure if it wanted to be Spy Kids or Marvel and did neither adequately. Characters were not sympathetic.
