Sea Prince and the Fire Child

Romeo and Juliet + Little Mermaid would be an apt description. Warring families, forbidden romance, undersea society etc. I liked the escalating epicness and stakes throughout but then the final battle against the big bad demon Algarock was kind of a “did you run out animation budget?” tier anticlimax. The only other review on this site calls it “extremely Disney” but I’m not familiar with too many Disney movies where the female lead’s boobs and nipples are fully out for the whole ending lol

Extremely Disney. I don't know the first thing about cartoons, but it strikes me as very well made from a technical standpoint. The story is like a Japanese fable crossed with Romeo and Juliet, and though I'm not crazy about some of the choices made in the finishing stretch (particularly some unnecessary loss of life), it works pretty well. I'm surprised it seems to be fairly obscure.
