Very mediocre documentary for such a legend. It mainly focuses on the first Ferrari WC, tells somewhat of a decent story and laysout some of his character but not in a great way. It is obviously made with love but could’ve been much more..

Not quite as good as any of the 35 or so best episodes of Drive to Survive. Didn't see the plot twist coming, though. That's a bummer.

Watchable docu about one of the greatest non-football athletes Germany have had. Biggest downside is that it keeps very vague what the current condition of Schumi is.

How convenient for the filmmakers to move so quickly through his dominance years and not so much while showing his first titles at Bennetton -- right after Senna's death -- and his rivalry with Mika, huh? So, boring and official by all means, totally ignoring much of the shady stuff about his years with Barrichello as second pilot -- they didn't even talk to him. Not nearly as exciting as it could be.

A bit of a meh Documentary about Michael Schumacher. Most of the runtime is just people saying how great he was at racing, which we already knew from the start. Even his prime years of racing are skimmed through fairly quickly, and you don’t find out much about him outside his racing career. It’s mostly archive footage and interviews about how awesome he was as a racer. Very little is covered about the issues and conflicts he had, and it felt kind of artificial and sanitised.

The documentary feels long even though it only tells us half of Schumacher's years in Formula 1 because it overextends the parts it tell. Then in 2 hours, you are halfway through the story but it has to be finished, so cut it right there, that's what this documentary does. However, watching Schumacher's relatives and friends reflecting on him was a great experience. It could have been much better but it still is better than nothing.

By-the-numbers recap that never really gets beneath the surface, either of the man or the sport. The filmmakers having never figured out how to deal with the fact that Formula 1 racing is visually uninteresting and generally unexciting, they compensate by including a worse-than-usual use of music to try and induce correct emotions at every moment. Schumacher is another example illustrating the thesis: if you want your kid to be great at something, then pick one thing, start early and work hard.

I am not into Formula 1, yet this is the second solid documentary I've seen about the sport. Schumacher's family come off as sympathetic and graceful, in their handling of the tragedy that befell him.
