Easily the best since the first. The traps are cool but I never actually went to Saw for them. I've always gone for the story, and while it can't match the mystery of Saw, it made it more personal, which is probably the best route for it, considering they humanized Jigsaw a long time ago. Bell is so great as this character, bringing an earnestness to him. And I'll never get tired of hearing "Hello Zepp." The plot twist is satisfying. It feels good to like Saw again.

Film qui a uniquement pour intérêt le plaisir nostalgique de revoir certains personnages dont Amanda. Le reste ne vaut pas grand chose, et c'est bourré d'incohérences.

Saw X feels as much as a refresher as it does more of the same that we have gotten. Its balance between the two is ultimately what works for this film. The traps are few & far between, but ultimately the narrative feels fun and different. With how things play out, it definitely gives a different perspective of what you’re watching even when you know how this all plays out. To be honest, this is better than it had any business being, and it makes you curious for its future.

After i got over the porny aesthetics and absolute bottom of the pile trailertrash soundtrack that makes me hate humanity for rewarding a lack of talent, i had some fun with the campy setup, extremely twisted gore traps and especially the wise John Kramer. However the plot gets so hysterically illogical and there are so many soapy mistakes and oversights that it overrides the fun by the end and i'm sure i never need to see another Saw movie again

"SAW X" reintroduces Jigsaw, with Tobin Bell delivering a standout performance. While it starts slow, the film's gruesome traps and thematic elements provide the expected Saw thrills. However, it lacks significant narrative connections to the broader franchise, making it a solid standalone but somewhat peripheral to the Saw series.

Oddly boring. It switches things up a bit and is certainly better than Spiral which was absolutely terrible. But the story was pretty thin and yet it took up soooo much time. Then the finale was pretty annoying. That mid credit scene did redeem it a bit tho.

About half of a good film, making it the best entry in the series since the original (though only the third or fourth most entertaining to watch). Them getting in the habit of making the victims the villains and now casting Jigsaw as some sort of misguidedly sadistic Hell Girl is odd considering how unwatchably gross the thankfully short trap sections are, but I suppose you can't do the -exact- same routine that many times in a row.

I've been expecting the classic Saw twist, knew what was going to happen while it was unfolding. But somehow they pushed it so far that I started to think it wasn't coming and Jigsaw was actually on the losing end for once. Means the setup was a success, which hadn't happened since the very first movie. They won't be able to get infinite mileage from an actor in his 80s, but it seems the franchise simply doesn't work without him. Surprisingly fine for a Saw movie, but quite slow and gratuitous.

Tied with VI as my third favorite, just behind the first and second films. The first half focusing on drama was a breath of fresh air compared to what the plot usually consists of in this franchise. The second half is decent, although it feels mildly repetitive. And with one of the most intentionally detestable groups of “victims”, it’s hard to care about most of them. Regardless, it stands out among the series, and with one the more straightforward narratives.

It's the best Saw film. Best characterization, possibly story and atmosphere. Just wow. It's really, really good, with fiendishly disgusting gory traps. I've not winced so much in a long time. It's a proper film rather than a run of the mill horror. Tobin Bell finally gets to be the protagonist and featured prominently in the film, and he nails it.

This was really a John movie, and I am loving that! As soon as the Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures title played I knew I was back into the realm that is the SAW-universe: my favourite horror movie franchise! We saw in this film more of the man rather than the monster that is John Kramer, we witnessed what he and his assistants are doing behind-the-scenes of their games and that was a nice change.

Yeah, franchise's best by a mile, mostly due to Bell's magnetic performance as the moralistic killer who's always finding new ways to teach people lessons while making they chop parts of their bodies in order to live -- and, yup, learn the lesson! Plot is absolutely bonkers -- how can Kramer, of all people, be tricked so easily into this scam? --, but it's mildy fun to watch, a lot of easter eggs are placed here and there, editing is functional and the ludicrous finale checks in beautifully.

I understand the reinvention the franchise is trying to do and there are far more character moments here than in the previous five? six? entries. That does make the requisite punishment scenes more brutal and emotionally wrenching because the character backstories feel more three-dimensional. I still rate it an average film because despite some of the tweaks, we still know what's coming. A ok horror film, albeit a depressing one.

Skipped everything after 2, so I missed all of the degredation and fast forwarded to the presumed bottom of the barrell. Boy, this was such a piece of ridiculous shit, it might just have given me brain cancer. The blood seasaw was hilarious, though.

I actually liked the start a lot when Jigsaw gets fooled. After that the fun starts and there are some horrific deaths (to be expected). Ending was meh. Could have been a LOT better, but they butchered a great start.

Sadly predictable in the end. Plus what made Saw gritty was how cold and inhuman the tests were, and even if we knew Kramer was doing it as a viewer, it seemed anonymous for the victims in the moment. Kramer's presence was limited for most movies so his scenes would have more impact. In this movie, he is overused. His attempted humanizing scenes break the pace and the mystery, and making him a protagonist of some sort removes any tension

Decent but not without some crappy scenes. Once they get the main victims in the warehouse and the first dies, it loses steam for a good chunk as Amanda / Jigsaw are too busy chatting about crap nobody cares about. Jigsaw is portrayed as the hero and the doctor is almost a comedic villain. Ends fairly well at least. Shawnee Smith does not look like herself.

Jigsaw ölüm koçluğuna devam ediyor. Bu sefer, sağlık düzenbazcılarından öcünü alıyor. Kanser teşhisi konulan Jigsaw, tedavi ettiğini öne süren 1 klinik tarafından kandırılır. 5 kişiye ölümcül tuzaklar kurup intikam alacaktır. Şiddeti ve gizemini azaltılmış. İntikam oyunları sıradan 1 halde alınmış. Entrika tuzakları ve senaryo zaafları sonlara doğru sıradanlaşıyor. 1 devam filmi olarak çok kötü değil. Filmin sonunda, tanıştırana ceza. Kan görmekten korkan öğrencim sınıfta kalır.

I really enjoyed the opening act. Not been done in other saw movies. Octogenarian Tobin Bell was phenomenal in this. Parts of the middle third dragged a bit for me, but overall this deserves the praise it has received. 7.3.

It was better than I expected, but still reaching a bit to be better than just "okay", for me. With Jigsaw kind of "revealed" and trying to be more of an empathetic character the whole movie, it takes away a lot of the tension, and makes the movie feel very slow for 90% of the movie, even when the "action" starts happening.

A solid return for the Saw franchise that does a lot good (the focus on John Kramer is extremely welcome and this film sees some of the franchise's most well-characterized victims) but also does a lot that leaves me more lukewarm (the death games themselves are mostly uninteresting conceptually and the final twist is very predictable).

Saw X has become my favorite installment in the franchise after the original and the third film. It surprised me with a complete tale of personal revenge. Although Jigsaw is of course stated as the "identity", this time we are faced with only John Kramer, with both his intelligent and flawed aspects. Enjoyable, engaging and interesting.

I don't remember if the earlier Saw movies had so many flashbacks and spoon-fed twists, but it was awful. The plot is somewhat good for a bad franchise, but everything else has no redeeming qualities.

I thought this was mostly fine. That's about as high as it jumps. Tobin Bell is of course great but I think I'm just less enamored at the concept of "humanizing Jigsaw" and his philosophies than a lot of other people are. It's definitely better than the recent history of Saw has been, but I don't think that automatically makes this great or anything. I'd like it if I were more hyped up over this than I am, but hey, at least it didn't suck and feels like it's directing the franchise upwards.

Saw went woke. Aka they tried making an actual movie for the first time since the second or third one. Does this without sacrificing the real stuff you come to Saw for like the traps (Obvs) and the pseudo philosophical babbling of a psycho. While not the most inventive or nausea inducing traps we’ve seen from the series they get the job done well enough. Doesn’t look like anything special but as long as it doesn’t look like a Mudvayne video we’re in okay shape.

Intestines are fun! Reminds me of the hospital scene in "Machete". I'm not a torture porn fan, but the critics actually liked this one so I gave it a try. I would prefer a Sam Raimi style that could bring humour and fun to the bloodshed.

I don’t get the massive praise for this one honestly. The first hour of just focusing on John Kramer was pretty boring to me. Once the second half begins and the trap stuff properly happens, it gets a bit better but by then it’s just me like thinking who cares from there onwards. We know Jigsaw is going to win and honestly was pretty underwhelmed with how it all played out by the end. It’s a big step up from Spiral for sure, but that isn’t exactly a hard thing to do.

In the end - I liked this. But it was just sort of flat. The torture scenes ("games") were pretty good. But the story was boring and flat. And maybe I'm misremembering but I thought John used to stay out of sight more and the victims would just hear his voice and see the creepy puppet. Worth seeing once if you are a fan of the series, but don't go in too hyped up.

Entertaining and brutal as ever. Somewhat of a return to form for the Saw franchise. But it certainly has its glaring flaws. Jon Kramer acts completely out of character for large portions of the film, and one of the characters is so cartoonishly evil it boggles the mind. Also, there are issues with tone and consistency. Not to mention, its place on the timeline doesnt quite add up, but then again, neither does most of the plot...
