Stanley Donen, Kirk Douglas, Farrah Fawcett, and Harvey Keitel?! Douglas gets naked, trips balls on space drugs, and is banging Fawcett, who wears rather inappropriate garb for science on Saturn's moon. Keitel's weird mechanical performance, he stares directly into a dog's butthole. Gigantic killer robot neutered with a teeny head and googly eyes. WHAT THE FUCK EVEN IS THIS MOVIE?! One hopes for trashy fun, but alas it's just trash. Perhaps Carpenter or De Palma could've made something of this.

Sci-fi in the same way that "Star Trek" is sci-fi. It's more or less just an imaginitve story set in space with little justified speculation about the future. I still enjoyed it, but this one feels far more dated than it should, even more than "Star Trek" and that came out over a decade prior, though I may be partial.

Better than I remember. Unique space movie. Basically, a thriller set in space.

Bizarre exercise into campy sci-fi feels like a weird throwback to 50s cheese, spiced up with "modern" sex and violence. Not a particularly great or even good film on its own terms, but unbeatable as a curio with ageing Douglas strutting his stuff with nubile Fawcett, a robotically dubbed Keitel as a possible romantic wedge, and TV level special and robotic effects, under the hand of director Stanley Donen (!!).

The isolated protagonists' May/December romance is a great backdrop 4 exploring possible infidelity but the film never lets u doubt their relationship 4 even a second. Keitel coming from an Earth w/ different rules might've led 2 intriguing cultural friction but that's cast aside as quickly as the genuinely surprising moment when Keitel's robot creation disapproves of his creator on ethical grounds. Had the film followed up on any of these ideas it'd b easier 2 overlook the glaring plotholes.

Some interesting ideas and imaginative design but all the thought-provoking elements of the plot went unused by the end

The most disappointing thing about this movie is that Keitel was overdubbed. And that robot in the picture there isn't half as threatening-looking as it appears at first glance because it has a silly-looking, teeny weeny head. The premise sounds hackneyed, but I found it rather thought-provoking. Some of the cinematography is good, particularly in the beginning, and the film caught me by surprise in a few places. I particularly enjoyed the first two-way conversation between Keitel and his robot.

A beautiful woman who is dating an older man finds herself propositioned by a younger but bizarrely autistic man who is doubled by a robot, both of whom are possessed by uncontrollable lust and homicidal tendencies. There’s something going on here, but something has also gone badly wrong somewhere along the way, with the result being a movie that is poor in almost all respects.

Top badass moment? The less than flattering depiction of AI. In a future where blue lightbulbs are cheap, a man with the least #MeToo friendly chat-up lines ever arrives at a space station and assembles a creepy looking robot, which gets the hots for Farrah. This pisses everyone off. Chaos ensues. The best scene can only be found amongst the deleted ones, where FF suddenly appears in an 80's outfit so bad, even Spinal Tap would've balked at it. 1 decapitation (poor Sally), no cats or chainsaws.

Creepy and nothing holds up when viewed in HD, also lots of poor editing/visual storytelling, or they lacked the time for another take in many places. Some charming cheesy 70s scifi otherwise. Maintains interest up until a long hide and seek near the end

There are much better rampaging robot films, but it's not the worst.

While not a masterpiece, it's far from being a train-wreck. No, it's not really suspenseful, but it makes up for it in other areas. Refreshingly offbeat, it also has excellent art direction. The climax explosion scene, beautifully designed and shot, is the most memorable. The robot design is unique and beautiful. Special mention for the sexual content. All in all, this is an anti-nerd sci-fi flick which pretty much explains it's unpopularity.

Surprisingly good special fx (for it's time), but odd age gap between Fawcett and Douglas is just too far fetched to stay involved in the story.

If you're after any kind of profundity you won't find it here. But if, like me, you like camp, slightly sexist sci-fi thrillers with good set design and graphics from a golden age, this is worth checking out. I would call it a second rate Alien, but this film has it's own charm which is worth experiencing.

It's not good in many many ways, but the robot is cool, the production design is interesting, and a naked Kirk Douglas chokes out Harvey Keitel in a spacesuit. So there's that.

Technically, it shows the accomplishment of production values when it can pass the limitations of practical effects. Sadly the story doesn't share this scope; it is hampered by a) an lacksure depiction of themes about humanity (even as a genre film) and b) restricting itself to a dull realism when the genre can allow people to take universal themes and push them to their fantastical zenith. The film has a reputation, not a very good one at that, but it doesn't really deserve any recognition.

Weird flick starring Kirk Douglas and Farrah Fawcett as a pair of scientists developing technology alone on a remote space station, in order to feed an overpopulated and starving Earth. Harvey Keitel arrives from Earth with a robot designed to help speed up their work, but it goes haywire and tries to kill them all. The robot is pretty crafty and they have to combine their wits and skills to defeat it, since they are without radio contact to Earth. Pretty decent action, plus Farrah's boobs.

Very lame movie, especially considering the cast and director. That now Kirk Douglas has outlived Farrah Fawcett makes it seem even worse

Intriguing film dirtected by Donen after the death of Barry. The Robot's great (as is Harvey Keitel, despite Roy Dotrice's uncredited voiceover). Some intriguing ideas and some miscasting, notably that of Kirk Douglas. Still well worth checking out
