Satanic Panic

The premise, if less than original, is extremely fun & the self-aware humor makes for a lot of laughs. The performances are pretty great all-around, with Griffith, Modine, Myrin & Romijn all shining in their roles. Some of the writing is clever & there's a clear love for horror behind it. However, it has several issues- thin characters, uneven pacing, a shaky plot, twists & turns that eventually get tiresome, & a very disappointing ending are the biggest. It's a mixed bag, but is worth a watch.

Just crazy and way out of there, it's certain to entertain if you're into some good old-school movie Satan worshipping aesthetics and laughs. It knows there's no need to play it too dark here, or try to act too serious. Just decent fun with some outrageous ideas, that was what I was here for. Rebecca Romijn is soooo good as the coven leader and the roles played by the rest of the cast were great, too. Horror comedy is my jam.

"Satanic Panic" is schlocky B-movie through-and-through, but it doesn't embrace the wacky side of B-horror enough to shine. There are other, far more self aware picks of this type so this one isn't really worth your time.

Fun, with a good mixture of humour and gore - basically a comedic version of House of The Devil. Too bad about the ending.
