2-3 years have gone by, both in the actual release date of this sequel, and in the actual timeline of the story. This movie chronicles the rise and fall of Shankar Nagre. A disappointment if you compare to it's prequel, Sarkar. All the empathy and love towards Shankar Nagre, which I felt when watching Sarkar, was lost this time around. I also took offense to the way they commercialized the franchise by the addition of pretty face Aishwarya Rai.

A VERY worthy succersor to Sarkar, which I loved! Less of an esnemble piece than the first, though a film that still delievers in the power of politics and corruption the first film had in spades. With yet another powerhouse performance from Amitabh Bachchan. Still, a film that manages to convey the epic qualities needed when paying homage to it's influence: the Godfather. More proof that Bollywood Cinema is coming of age. Toe knee :-)
