Ram Gopal Varma states at the beginning of the film that he wanted to do a homage to the Godfather and it shows. And let me state for the record he's done it proud! A fine cast, a well thought out script and he does well creating the epic feel needed for a film like this. Sarkar Raj is well worth it's time popcorn also. Toe knee :-)

Gritty and brooding. Each of Sarkar's (Amitabh Bachchan) words are drawn out and thoughtfully said - which lets you breathe in the (oft tense) atmosphere. Very well done.
