Kuttapayi (Mammootty), wastrel son of wealthy businessman Illickal Rappayi (Thilakan), along with 4 students - Raju (Mukesh), Palunni (Jagadish), Anil (Ganesh Kumar) & Alex (Appa Haja) - gets embroiled in a conflict in their native place of Kuttanad & seeks shelter with Roy (V.K. Sriraman), in Kodaikanal. There, Kuttapayi is faced with his ugly past - Ammini (Saritha), whom he cheated as a youth & who was now a whore & unknown to him, his daughter from that relationship, Ashwathy (Parvathi).
