Same Kind of Different as Me

An honorable telling that deserves to be told, and Zellweger was good. I appreciate when stories make me think about the greater good. I still needed a little bit more for it to be great. *Recommendable

A henpecked husband befriends a homeless guy. I think this is supposed to be a Christian movie. But unlike most Christian movies, it didn't have the "When I was down and out, I met someone who showed me Jesus, and now I have accepted him as my Lord and Savior and my life is now all unicorns and rainbows" trope. So, bonus points for that. Sadly, the movie was boring, with the characters going no-where, so I couldn't give it a very high rating.

A deeply touching movie that reminds us of what really matters, and that we are all connected.

I liked some of this movie, but it sometimes felt a bit false. Djimon Hounsou character was bewildering at times and he droned on a bit too much. It was hard to get invested in the characters. Kinnear was unexciting. Zellweger seemed to be stunted by the role. The story is noble but not presented particularly well. The music was stale. Some of the dialog was preachy. Overall, the production, story and performances were disappointing.
