When beautiful Salomy Jane resists the romantic advances of a young ruffian, she is rescued by Jack Dart, who has his own additional reasons for tangling with the man. Jack fights the ruffian and kills him. He escapes with the law on his trail, for it is (wrongly) presumed that he is also the man who held up the stagecoach. Salomy Jane comes to his rescue when he is captured and about to be lynched. (imdb)

Salomy Jane (1914) is a rare full-length western from 1914 which starred Beatriz Michelena as the damsel fighting for her man who gets in a bit of trouble. This is actually well shot and well narrated film. Perhaps not as exciting as it could have been, but for a 1914 film lasting nearly one and a half hour it's surprisingly fluid. Part of the direction was done by William Nigh, a man who became one of the better small-studio directors into the sound era after a stint at MGM in the silent era.
