"Sadako (2019) falls short, offering a tired plot, uninspiring characters, and a convoluted backstory. Occasional scares and nods to the original Ring series save it from being a complete letdown.

Trying to update a story for the times is one thing, but you gotta make it good. I'm a sucker for horror films, but this one was bad. It's all the more disappointing for the fact that the original director was back for this one too.
