Rusty's Birthday

One of the smaller franchises that disappeared in 1949 was the one about the dog Rusty. They made 8 films from 1945-1949, which was the main reason child actor Ted Donaldson stayed around for so long, here in his awkward teen years. Rusty was played by a dog called Flame, and there's little doubt as to the inspiration being Rin Tin-Tin. They were decent little dramas, this included, something which would have fit nicely on TV, but nobody picked it up and this seems to be the end of the dog.
