Solid inspirational biopic that has a great central performance but never feels quite as big as the events it depicts and the actual March is a bit anticlimatic. I liked how much they emphasized the difficulty of logistics and how things like this require a huge team of people to organize, and also the depiction of tensions between different groups and people within the movement. It's always good to see civil rights heroes who don't have the huge profile of a Martin Luther King get their due.

Exactly the sort of awards season vegetable mush you’re expecting it to be (along with a dash of paprika courtesy of Branford Marasalis’ big band score which puts some badly needed pep in this film’s leaden step).

Domingo portraits a rare combination of being expressive, eloquent and not being understandable: I see his mouth and face moving and I hear words but I can't comprehend a single sentence he's saying and to my memory that's something I've never experienced before, I am honestly confused. The soundtrack is moronic. Kept my patience until half way through, then quit.

Very conventional biopic in every way, including a conventionally brilliant lead performance.

A decent biopic, if a bit anticlimactic leading to the main event, but not much more than that. The history behind it is so consequential, and yet the film fails to impress.

Pleasingly, refreshingly old-fashioned biopic (more of the March itself than Rustin specifically) gets its juice from its roster of dependable performers, and a nice sense of time and place (though some of the social interactions of the characters don’t quite ring true). Checks all the boxes to be a dependable crowd pleaser, but leaves you wishing for a slightly more potent and fiery treatment of this material, or even a more thorough portrait of Domingo's fascinating and multi-layered Rustin.

Amerikan siyahi gay aktivisti Bayard Rustin'in hayat hikayesi.

Slicked-up version of some real, important events. It's in the spirit of the old Hollywood historical costume dramas: neatly packaged personages, and absolutely no spark or energy. Except Jeffrey Wright--there's a real performance happening when he's on screen. Everyone else is completely hobbled by awful writing, the kind of writing where every ordinary retort strives for pithiness and timeless quotability.
