This movie is really stupid, but it came along at the exact right time for me and my brothers - we still text each other our favorite quotes ("You bring American muh-nee?"). Yeah, we're dorks.

Not actually good and not bad just terribly mediocre and apparently Hollywood execs felt that Chris Tucker should receive more screen time and headline billing which really ruins the movie quite a bit. The Hong Kong locale is interesting enough though but once gain they failed to flesh out what made Jackie Chan an international superstar to begin with. Hint: It's action and not wisecracking with a second rate actor.

I'm glad this one had more time in Hong Kong. Other than that, it's really just more of the same which for most probably got old quick. As another person said it's disposable entertainment and that's all I really wanted.

Casual racism and sexism aren't funny (oh look, two grown men excitedly spying on a woman undressing.. hilarious), and a few scenes aside (see Carter's commotion at the craps table) that accounts for all the humour of the film, tainting the otherwise charming odd-couple dynamic of 7-11 Carter and "student doing all the work on the group project" Lee. Elsewhere, the plot is fairly forgettable detective fodder but populated by lots of fun action sequences (highlighted by Chan's incredible skills).

The film picks up where Part 1 left off: Detective James Carter travels to Hong Kong with his new friend, Detective Lee. There they get involved in a battle with Chinese criminals, and they even end up back in America.

About equal in quality as its predecessor. Chris Tucker is extremely annoying and unfunny, which cost the movies half a point at least. Ratner doesn't know how to shoot a fight sequence, somehow he decide to shot it mostly in medium shots, losing Jackie even sometimes in his shots. But Jackie does his thing well and overall the plot moves at a nice pace.

Jackie Chan is always entertaining to watch. Especially when he starts with his own choreography. Chris Tucker is for sure far more annoying this time around and the story doesn't do the film many favors. However the consistent comedy and pretty cool ending work in its favor.

"Rush Hour 2" follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, with more of the same: funny dialogues, good action and an awesome screen couple. Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker's chemistry probably is the best thing about this franchise and, even if this sequel isn't as essential as the first film, it isn't far behind either.

The rare sequel that's better than the first. Don't worry too much about the plot - that's not what we're here for. Just enjoy the great fight choreography and the comic interplay between Chan and Tucker. And don't forget the outtakes, a Jackie Chan tradition. These are some of the best!
