Finally, its over. Acting a bit too over the top. Worth it for the fight scenes but not much else.

The epic conclusion to the battle of Kenshin vs Shishio, in which Kenshin returns to his master to learn the final technique that may give him a chance to survive the confrontation. Packed with tons of memorable villains and inventive swordplay, the final 40 minutes is one huge non-stop fight scene on a warship being bombarded by cannon fire. A fantastic trilogy: Takeru Sato's physical performance as Kenshin over the course of three movies is nothing short of astonishing.

It wasn't all good, but there was enough there for fans and moviegoers alike. They did make the mistake of not making this a true trilogy, as the setup could have been so great from the first film, but it was still enjoyable to see these characters come to life, even if it wasn't in the way they truly deserved to be.

Yeah, by the third movie, I'm starting to love this universe. They used more time to build a sentimental feel, which might feel like a slow down, but I think it paid-off. Especially when the fighting, especially the climax, was so damn good. You got deeper into the characters and still got that massive blow off of good vs evil.

This movie has a few exceptionally well choreographed sword fights. Except for the silly, over the top sword fight with the bandaged villain at the end, the plot is compelling & engaging. Dialog is classic Japanese. Excellent swordsmanship & charismatic characters make it engaging & interesting. Takeru Satô was especially good as the protagonist. Masaharu Fukuyama was a great teacher. The talented kid Ryûnosuke Kamiki was also a pleasure to watch. Fans of sword fighting movies will love this.
