Over an hour into the film they introduce Nick Nolte as Liam’s dad and his sole purpose to the plot is to reveal ANOTHER reason for Liam’s son to be upset with him. It’s been an hour guys. We get it. Their relationship is strained. You made that point abundantly clear. This does feature a good cast that is used well along with some pretty good action sequences.

Ed Harris & Liam Neeson give good performances in this poorly written pretentious crime story. Nolte looked like pretty ragged in his cameo. Production quality is very good. Also very good music. There are several satisfying action scenes. It's weakness is its ludicrous plot, confusing characters, unconvincing dialog. Other than being unbelievable, there were some good tense scenes, good action and it was entertaining and sometimes thrilling.

You either like watching Liam Neeson beat ass or you don't. This isn't Taken level greatness but it's close. Ed Harris is one of those guys I don't seek out to watch but when I do I'm always like man that guy is awesome. No different here. I thought the only real weakness of the movie was Common, who was just so unbelievable in an otherwise realistic movie. It's also the first movie I've seen where a regular car is chasing a cop car, which was just a really well shot and made scene.

The hitman they send after Liam Neeson is some Terminator fan fiction nonsense and it's a hoot. Has those over the top unneeded scene transitions where the camera zooms out to another location but goes through fences, rain gutters , a hobo's asshole.

On the surface it appears to be another "mess with Liam Neeson's family and he kills you" movie, but there's actually a lot more to it than that. Run All Night has a surprising amount of emotional depth. Ed Harris plays a believable & complex antagonist, and his scenes with Neeson are great. Don't skip this one just because the trailer makes it look like Taken 4.

This is a classic Liam Neeson movie. Simple and generic premise, with a little twist here and there. It's this film's bread and butter. There isn't anything that stands out about it expect for the fact I got Ed Harris and Liam Neeson in the same film, which gets brownie points. It's straight to the point and it provides interesting action pieces, but even these movies can give a little more and it would be easily more memorable. It's fine for a good one time watch.

Is this the one where Neeson saves his daughter from a bunch of bad guys using a special set of skills? No, it's the one where he saves his son using a special set of skills. Generic? Yes. Entertaining? Vaguely.

Starts off pretty good and Neeson seems to be actually trying a bit here but for a movie that ha the characters "run all night" it's pretty damn slow paced and kind of boring and I started to lose interest about an hour in. I didn't hate it, just wanted it to be a faster paced action film.

More of Liam Neeson means more of the same, in this day and age. I'm not complaining however, because he is great at kicking ass. What more is there to say? A great cast, the script is up to par, overall an entertaining film (save from Common, who sucked as the Terminatoresque hitman).

The excessive drinking and the weariness we see this time around certainly speaks to the true wages of wet work (the deadly deeds hit men do). And the father-son relationship is redemptive. But we've worn this same sweaty coat, been pummeled with these same obscene words, chugged these same glasses of scotch and splattered the contents of these same thuggish noggins with this same broken-nosed Irishman far too many times now for any of it to mean anything more than murder, mayhem and madness.

A generic, predictable, and contrived action-thriller starring Liam Neeson that we won't be able to differentiate from the seemingly countless others we've been subjected to over the past few years. It's not exactly bad, but you've seen it before. It wastes its potentially interesting elements in favor of lengthy chase scenes and shootouts. Yawn.

Neeson with his particular set of skills is at it again. I rather enjoyed the dark and gritty feel that is for the most part the main effective backdrop of the film. The story is somewhat too familiar to make this really stand out, it is an entertaining romp through the streets of New York though.

Run All Night is a tale of redemption. Neeson plays Jimmy Conlon an ex-hitman who worked for aging mob boss(Ed Harris) for several years and has long since been retired from the job He's now a drunk and outsider with only Shawn looking after him not even his own son Mike(Joel Kinnaman) Shawn's son Danny(Boyd Holbrook) looking to impress his father in ways he believes his father will appreciate not understanding Shawn doesnt want to see his son follow in his footsteps. But his killed by Jimmy

i don't exactly go into collet-serra movies with high expectations but this is a disappointment regardless. no excuse for rating this high, ESPECIALLY if you're into trashy action movies. completely rote with some tacked on faux-grit (neeson really can't carry roles where he has to make quips about giving someone's wife 12 inches), hopeless editing, painfully obvious emotional cues, bland/murky set pieces. final harris scene is good though i'll grant you.

There is definitely some stuff in this movie I genuinely enjoy, including the go-for-broke pacing once the first shots are fired and the Neeson/Harris interplay. It does fizzle out as the movie goes on, though, and the climax is pretty underwhelming. Definitely better than Taken 2 and 3, though.

I came out a lot more entertained then I was expecting. Run All Night has a fresh plot and plenty of action to boot. Great performances from the majority of the cast although I'm still not sold on Kinnaman. It's one of Neeson's better movies and one of the better crime films I have seen recently. You'll have fun with this one. 4 STARS

It's another compelling drama on a long list of hit films for Liam Neeson, and factor in the emotional range of Kinnaman and Harris and you have an action film that not only features dynamic characters but keeps you on the edge of your seat. Kinnaman at times saves the film, simply because we have seen this before from Neeson and Harris but Kinnaman displays a sense of grit and realism proving he has a bright career ahead if he continues to land roles in prominent films.

It is small steps, but the Collet-Serra/Neeson team is actually going in the right direction, mostly because of Collet-Serra ability to screen Neeson the way he does. There's really not much new in this. Old men in a stop-and-stare-shooting story and a contest in who can sound the most bad-ass over the phone. This was definitely okay, but maybe a tad too long. *Okay

The bland title Run All Night (2015) at least describes what's going on. Neeson and son has to be on the run.... yes.... all night, from cops and gangsters. And this was sure violent enough! Those that love the Taken style murder flicks won't be disappointed, except for it's Liam Neeson doing it again. But at least it's something he's good at. A bit overkill, but really well crafted without feeling one is seeing a original movie.

The story definitely has loads of potential. Neeson has however "outplayed" himself over the last few years. Also Kinnaman and his character is so annoying!

Curious to see a Collet-Serra in which the set pieces don't quite work -- specially those composed transitions that take you everywhere in NY -- but the father-and-son dialogues, the friendship between Neeson and Harris -- that scene showing Neeson holding Harris about to die, Harris putting his hand on his neck, is just brilliant.

Harris adds a lot of depth to his villain role because he's great, and the relationship between him and Neeson actually adds some emotional depth. Outside of that, yeah, it's kinda predictable and the pacing is off occasionally... but it's one of the better action films Neeson has done, even if it only strays from the formula a little bit -- most notably in the aforementioned relationship between him and Harris.

Gonna go a bit against the grain here because to me it's NOT the same generic action thriller Liam Neeson's been in a dozen times now. This has more heart, a better story, and better performances than you'll find in those "average" flicks. It's better on virtually every level from my perspective, especially the way it's shot -- the use of retrospective & pauses in time were really solid. Neeson + Harris = gold. Not perfect, but one of the better Neeson flicks I've seen in a few years. See it!

It's basically the same movie Liam Neeson has been making for the past few years; in other words it's another Taken flick, but with a slightly better cast. Still, Neeson's son in the film is the weak link here; all his scenes drag terribly. The film is over two hours long but really should have been 85 minutes. Vincent D'Onofrio steals every scene he's in.

Pretty standard crime thriller storywise, but there were some truly touching moments. The philosophy of death and loss is touched upon quite well, giving the movie some identity to match its one night runtime. Neeson's gotten pretty safe with his "highly skilled trained killer" characters, with this one being somewhere between Taken and Walk/Tombstones. Kinnaman and Harris deliver fantastic performances though, and despite some overt Road to Perdition theft, I did enjoy it!

Also known as "Taken 17". Yes, Liam Neeson is back as the guy with a particular set of skills and despite the actor's hatred toward firearms he sure seemed to enjoy using them throughout the film. The movie is good, it has a lot of good action scenes in it, but honestly I think Neeson has poisoned the well with me. He's too political and his movies are all the same (even though the formula works and probably makes money)...
