Em honra de Paul Vecchiali (1930 - 2023). A perda de Vecchiali vai além da minha admiração pelos seus filmes, me atinge pessoalmente porque eu amava ler as considerações dele sobre cinema em seu Facebook, levei um susto ao saber de sua passagem porque me parecia uma dessas pessoas imortais que estão sempre alí no nosso dia a dia. Morre com ele mais uma pessoa com que eu pude dividir minha paixão por Powell e Pressburger. DVDRip no MakingOff.

Viewed December 28, 2021. This is really a striking work of cinema, with a dominant style and astonishing lead performance by Marianne Basler. Paul Vecchiali opens this film with dedications to Max Ophuls and Jean Renoir, and there are moments in this that play like a synthesis of these two great directors - Renoir's more theatrical, stylized staging of his late career mixed with Ophuls' roving long takes and beautifully modulated shifts in emotion and perspective.
