It's cute and has its moments. Ron becoming the Grindr app scene was heinous.

Derivative of several films that have done similar things much better in recent years; Big Hero 6 and The Mitchell’s v’s the Machines spring to mind, amongst others. But it’s well voiced and animated, and gets a few reasonable social commentary digs in during its formulaic runtime. Pleasant, if not outstanding.

I wanted to like it so much, but it's so...bland. There are fun moments but theme of "just put down your phone & have friends IRL" is so boomer. 1st 1/3 focused way too much on family weirdness (& is this racist toward Bulgarians?). Villain and adults are so cartoony (ha). Could have ended 30 mins earlier after Ron pulls Barney out of the forest. Poop girl is catchy. Overall there's a good concept if they lean into the sci-fi horror. Fav scene: I gasped thinking Ron snapped the chicken's neck.

The last third is less enjoyable than the rest; it's here that the film pivots from being a fun hang-out movie to something a lot plottier. I also found its psuedo-emotional ending beat to be extremely unconvincing. But on the whole, this is funny, occasionally sweet, and entertaining. In the canon of animated films about lonely children and their unexpected new friend, this isn't up to snuff with The Iron Giant or Lilo & Stitch, but it's a good one and deserves a little love.

Probably the most annoying robot in movie history. And yes, I’ve seen Bicentennial Man.

A pleasant surprise and a lot better than the ratings made me expect. It actually tries to say something instead of playing it safe like a random Minions film. There are some jabs at Apple that I doubt Pixar would have the guts to deliver. It doesn't all work; the family stuff and data center scenes, and it's too long in general. Humor is refreshingly edgy for a family film. It also has heart and while it recycles beats from Amblin films, Iron Giant, etc., it's still a successful combination.

Galifianakis provides the heart Ron needs for this film to succeed. The story is one we have seen before but it is presented in such a way that you get hooked. Glazer is also great as Barney the awkward middle school kid who has very little friends and troubles making them. We as adults can learn a lesson or two from films of this nature. It is heartfelt at times and silly enough for younger kids at others. A perfect family fun film.

I want the soundtrack. The Diki-diki song is so adikitive. Also, this is what happens, APPLE, when you get rid of the headphone jack - you can't update your firmware. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?

A truly alarming piece of self-indulgent age-inappropriate trash. Want to make the very serious problem of kids on social media supremely attractive and fun to those very same kids? This is the movie for you.

I really wasn't expecting much from this film, which is probably the best way to go into a movie, but I actually really enjoyed It! It's not exactly doing anything new or revolutionary, but I think It feels fairly fresh and relatable for anyone of the newer generation. The animation is all pretty solid, as well as the voice performances. With some solid laughs and seriously heartfelt moments, I would definitely recommend this anybody interested. I give 8 B-bots out of 10.

W2E1P0S1V1M1A1R1. Really not that bad of a watch. But SPOILERS: you mean to tell me that the solution to kids' preference for internet community over real friendships is to...encourage them to be best friends with a robot? It seems to suggest that the problem is not that we value computers over actual humans, but simply that our computers are not emulating human interaction well enough.

It’s a solid introduction for the new production company, Locksmith animation. The movie is not terribly innovative, but it depicts well the core relationships of Barney and his friends and family. The message of friendship being a two-way street, accepting the flaws of yourself and that of your close ones, is appropriate for viewers all age. Decent 100 minutes of entertainment - if a bit unremarkable and forgettable after a while.

Galifianakis saves this by-the-numbers kid's movie. It does a pretty nifty job deconstructing tech and social media at times, but the second and third acts wrap up a little too conveniently, especially the ham-fisted emotional climax.

The film is the strongest when it's content being a relatable and fun story about a kid getting his first friend. So it's sad then when the film feels it necessary to one-up itself with a grander, more conventional finale. Especially as many of the more interesting story arcs felt lacking in screen time towards the end.

While fairly cookie-cutter for what's animated films these days, Ron's Gone Wrong (2021) does entertain while telling us all the friendships we need is digital.

Such a charming and timely animated film with some meaningful social commentary. Ron might not be as cute as Baymax but he is still charming. One huge downer was that it tries so hard to make the climax as sad as possible, which wound up making a supposedly genius progammer an idiot who does not know how to copy and paste data.

Wall-e meets big hero 6. A colourful, gorgeously animated, funny film with incredibly revelant social commentary on the pitfalls of social media, how the current generation of kids grow up sharing everything and craving likes and follows. Not at all subtle digs at Facebook and privacy issues and looks at the meaning of real world friendship.
