Having myself spent hours practicing my Rubik's Cube skills I could relate to Maria's fascination with and dedication to a very specific challenge. The movie explores how this becomes a large (perhaps too large) part of her life and suggests that such ventures may be hard for others to understand. A neat little film which never builds to something more than a well-observed drama - and it doesn't need to.
