Romance sentimentale

A bit of an experiment by Sergei Eisenstein and co-director Grigoriy Aleksandrov to use sound and images to create a mood. Tree branches in the wind alternate with ocean waves and a woman singing a sentimental song at a piano ... it's interesting if rather inconsequential.

It's not the most thrilling thing in the world, but I like it.

the neverending cycle of storm, silence, cloud-break and sunshine used as an analogy for a romance's argument, silence, make-up and passion. a bit too long.

Sports some original and interesting editing techniques, but it's also kinda dull.
