Another gem from Garbo and the always under appreciated Clarence Brown

For a 1930 drama it's nicely shot in all it's simplicity. Straight focused on Greta Garbo as a love sick opera diva. They rarely move out of her rooms and let the soppy dialogue carry the entire production. This is 1930 so there are a lot of cringing moments. Both from the corny set-ups and the way it's acted all dramatic for the theater. I would say this might be the worst of Garbo's Hollywood films, but it's still Garbo and there is always an strange allure to her.
