Before the wall was built the Soviet/East-German Propaganda was high priority to still divide the people, and this drama preaches propaganda while delivering it. It's fascinating to see the mind games at play, more so than the story itself. It's such a time capsule into a very specific time period in German history.

Fabulous depiction of the film and theatre scene in the divided Berlin of 1947. Blatant propaganda, but that should not detract from watching it.
