Disney takes on unjust economics and class warfare: there's literally a 7-year old bunny with a wooden sword yelling "Death to tyrants!" at one point. Undeniably goofy and fun (the archery tournament is a blast and the villains are hilarious), but it doesn't shy away from the despair of poverty and oppression ("Sometimes ups outnumber the downs, but not in Nottingham"). The plot lacks a solid thrust and arc, but it still hits all the right notes, especially with that golden soundtrack.

This is one of the best animated features Disney has made. The music by Roger Miller is catchy and memorable. The story is a classic, and just making the characters animals, each one cleverly reflective of the characters' personality, makes it even more of a lovable film. Make sure you have it in your collection! Awesome!

I think I watched this about 45 times from the ages 5-8. Classic. When I think of Robin Hood, I think of this fox...then I think of Kevin Costner firing a flame-arrow in slow-motion...then I think of that scene where he's bathing in the waterfall and then I throw up a little in my mouth. WHY!?!?!! At least he could've been wearing undies!!!! Please, God, NOOOOOO!!!!! (**hurk**)

Anybody who is familiar with and enjoys the Robin Hood stories should find something enjoyable in this animated feature. Each characters voice was perfectly casted, and their appearance suited them. This is a fun film for children and adults, and is far better than the Costner version.

(2014-15 Disneython #15:) Despite being one of the cheapest of all Disney films, full of recycled animation, I've always found this one to be bursting with sheer charm. It all starts with Brian Bedford's hugely likable vocal performance as Robin Hood, but also flows through set pieces like the archery contest and final castle escape and a lot of catchy, folksy songs.

Scattered and tiresome version of the Robin Hood legend is strikingly ugly and unappealing in terms of its animation - are we really 14 years of progress ahead of the stunning SLEEPING BEAUTY? Occasionally brought to life by some good voice over work, though the bizarrely heavy handed "eat the rich" diatribes seem out of place in such lightweight entertainment. Errol Flynn remains the one and true Robin Hood!

One of my favorite Disneys of all time, mostly for the subject matter and now anthropomorphism. I miss the days when Robin Hood (animated or not) could be romantic and charming rather than dreary, muddy and bloody (looking at you, Ridley Scott). As an adult, I've come to appreciate the length of these pieces, which is perfect for preventing boredom at all ages. The film has its moments of pathos, assisted by the animal imagery. Voice work is charming, but Prince John is no Maleficient or Gaston.

Hugely entertaining Disney. This film was actually made on a low budget for Disney, and occasionally it shows, with much of the drawing boards reused from "Jungle Book". Even so, this is funny, and a lot of fun. One of the best Disney from the era.

Who's the sexiest fox? Sorry, ladies, that voice is gay and taken! Yeah, I found that out the other day. Does that mean Robin Hood is gay? Or can we still run away together? Never mind, he's only got eyes for Marion. What were we thinking, girls? Were we all prepubescent homewreckers in the making, swooning over our first furry crush? Ugh. So good, though.

It is very cute, I mean beyond standard Disney cute; so from that point of view it was very enjoyable. While its evident that "Robin Hood" was the first film produced after Walt's death, and the animation's notably cheap (with some of the more notable examples of recycled animation in the studio's filmography), there's still a fair bit of charm to be found in "Robin Hood's" characters and jingles.

Disney's Robin Hood isn't without its charms, but it seems to be missing the timeless quality that makes it a classic. The songs were good, if a bit hokey. The voice acting was fine, though the southern drawls and mispronunciation of Nottingham were downright annoying. This film is perhaps an introduction to Robin Hood, but is neither amongst the good, accurate nor innovative productions.

A Robin Hood movie that captures the fun of folklore - albeit with relatively poor production values and some bizarre choices in music. Of note is the excellent Prince John - it's pure camp. The pacing is off and it ends very abruptly but at the same time it doesn't wear out it's welcome. Also: all the baddies are animals from Africa (rhinos, lions, even the snake if you want to push it) and that's a perhaps unintentionally racist bit of subtext. Something to chew on!

This will always hold childhood place in my heart. But thats not why I rank it this high, I do so because it actually manages to create some damn good suspense and tension for a cartoon about talking animals. The archery scene is perhaps the most well-known, but the final heist on the castle is simply marvellous, making our hero seem like... well a chased animal, and by Golly does it work.
