An immensely enjoyable, high watermark of the road movie/buddy comedy genre, with Hope and Crosby both in terrific form bantering with their expert brand of patter, and amusing asides to the audience (with Benchley's narrator one-upping them both with his hilariously droll interjections; RHPS inspiration?) Basically a plotless trifle, but so buoyantly funny and likable that it completely overcomes any of its shortcomings.

"Road to Utopia" features the iconic duo Hope and Crosby breaking the fourth wall to engage directly with the audience, a stylistic twist for their characters. They're joined this time by a narrator who also partakes in this unconventional interaction. While the comedy may reflect its era and not resonate as it once did, the film retains its charm and entertainment value.

BlurayRip YTS.

Always a good laugh when this trio gets together! So many inside jokes and even walking bears! What's not to love?

An amusing bit of fluff that repeatedly shatters the fourth wall. The film stars with Robert Benchley telling the audience that the film ended being a bit too confusing, so he'll be interjecting every once and a while to help clarify. Hope and Crosby talk directly to the audience and react to the film's soundtrack..

there're some very solid moments with very good screenplay; is funny; reasonably organized; pushes the absurd in certain moments (animals talking); some problematic circunstances: some of the scenes work as sketches, and they are made in a way that they kinda create narrative ruptures within the story; the absurd fact that Sal fell in love with one of them. Still, is a very good comedy with good direction.

The fourth film in the road series and one of the most polished scripts in the series. Possibly the best example of the "Road" formula. I personally enjoyed the plot and setting the 3rd (Morocco) more than the Klondike antics we see in this picture. Which is better? It's a toss-up.

easily the best road picture, hope and crosby are at their best, and the fourth wall breaks are hilarious. perhaps it's because lamour ends up with hope (the only time), but maybe not. great songs and perfectly funny.
