Aldo Lado's odd erotic drama is loosely based on the Issei Sagawa case, where a Japanese student studying in Paris murdered and ate one of his classmates. That makes it sound like this is some kind of gore fest, but it's not. It's a slow, slightly erotic artsy drama that is at it's best when it focuses on this couple and Huckmann's philosophizing, and kind of okay when it focuses on Ring trying to find a job. It's kind of like a cheap. Italian version of a Nagisa Ôshima film.
