Rise

Regardless of whether one finds it admirable or dubious that this first time director has used his inaugural effort to make a one-sided case for his own innocence (while simultaneously pushing a religious barrow), this movie above all stands as testament to the fact that, after many decades of film production, Australian cinema is still capable of achieving a general level of incompetence unmatched by any other national cinema. Only Martin Sacks manages to rise above the morass.
