Rim of the Canyon

I just loved this one. I like all Gene's pictures, but this one had a ghost town with a real ghost, and Champion escaping from horse nappers, plenty of action and a couple of lovely tunes, like this one below. I think this is in my Top Two of Gene Autry pitchers. OH! And it had the Skipper, Alan Hale Jr. as a cheatin' rival type. Yee haw!

Ghostly atmosphere gives this Gene Autry entry an identity. Not too haunting, as Autry it more about adding the gentle charms, but it was nice with a mild change of mood.

Good setting and a fun double-role flashback structure elevate this one a little.
