One of the more famous silent films cowboy hero Tom Mix did. Riders of the Purple Sage (1925) is one of countless Zane Grey written stories that's been put on the silver screen, and remade several times. Warner Oland plays one of the bad guys and as usual is an effective bad guy, even when not an oriental. There isn't that much action, but there is enough plot to fill the 56 minutes it lasts. Nice with an western that lets the story be the most important part.
