In a rigged gunfight Tom Blake is forced to shoot a man in self defense and is then hunted for murder. After a long trip fleeing the posse he uses a false name and joins the Pony Express which is just about to commence operatons. Relegated to the most dangerous section of the route, he finds himself fighting the District Manager's scheme to sabotage the inital run. But just then a wanted poster with his picture on it arrives.

This ended-up being was a relaunch of Ken Curtis' career. He's probable best known for his role as Festus on the popular TV-series Gunsmoke (1955-1975). This literary is the bottom of the barrel as far as production goes. Yet, somehow Ken Curtis himself made bits of this a joy. Mainly when he was singing and doing his thing. I wouldn't call him a leading guy type actor, but he was clearly a multi-talented character that had stuff to offer, so I think I'll enjoy discovering more from him.
