Hokum, but very entertaining hokum at that. Mantan Moreland's comedy will be uncomfortable for some in this PC age, but it doesn't detract from the film. In fact, I will also add that the black female characters seem to be the strongest of the cast, never batting an eyelid at the sight of the undead and, if films continued beyond what's on screen, far more concerned with their normal lives than the gormless men wandering the mansion setting.

If you've seen King of the Zombies and wondered how it would be with mantan morelands brilliant(if dated) comedic presence criminally underused look no further than this sequel. Everything's a rehash, but less interesting, more lethargic, and with astonishingly bad acting--even going in expecting it to be bad i was shocked how low it went. But what really gave King life was moreland and he's barely used here. Too bad it was the 40s bc the black cast members were the only good part of this.

Buncha damn Nazis! Btw that zombie call actually seemed to echo "Werewolves of London" (or vice versa). John Carradine sports a mustache in this one. And Jeff is a regular bundle of laughs throughout...kinda like a faintly hysterical Lou Costello. Rosella also gets some good lines/jabs in. I have no idea why Carradine's wife turned tail on him (but I guess it's a good thing that she did). Oh yeah, and Gale Storm provides a nicely sweet presence throughout.

Sure a terrifying title for such a non-scary horror flick. Weird that Monogram got such a respected character actor as John Carradine to star in this unimpressive gimmick picture.
