This movie retains all the ghost effects that made me like "The House on Haunted Hill" (remake), but adds an unsatisfactory plot. The result is a hollow, but scary movie.

This starts out low-budget and mediocre and continues to spiral downwards towards a lame video game ending that failed to satisfy on any level.

I'm ranking this even though I can't quite remember how it ended or if I even finished watching it. But when I started watching yesterday, I realized I had seen it already and I remembered it had been quite an awful experience.

Poor plot, poor acting, poor kills. The plot is bad enough that it retroactively taints the first one a little bit. The motivation behind some of these plot devices is thin if there at all sometimes. If you really liked the first one, you probably wont like this.

Boy this isn't very good, now is it? Do you really need to explain WHY the house is evil? What's next, "House on Haunted Hill 3: Explanation for Why the Statue that Made the House on Haunted Hill Evil is Evil"? Yeah, and instead of containing this great evil in a crappy abandoned mansion that no one goes to let's just drop it into the ocean! WHAT HARM COULD THAT DO? IT WILL BE FUN, REALLY. Good god. Nice boobs all around though.

The first one needs..in my opinion a memorial cause it was one of the best Horror Movies in the 90's. Great effects...good cast and great atmosphere...this god damn sequel deserved to get banned to outer space. Shame on you Combs....

Four points: one for cool opening titles, one for dark eyed hot Cerina Vincent, one for short threesome scene and one last point for grouch epilogue.

I LOVED the original House on Haunted Hill remake. This lost all the spirit of first film and did it no justice. It's not a horribly made film, some weak CGI at times, bad writing in early scenes, but acting was passable. It just felt so disconnected, and not nearly as scary or funny as original remake. Characters, acting and writing were much stronger in that one.

Tactless, insecure and uneasily restless. Some moments (trying to scare) compel humour (ghosts showing up in "fast-motion" now and then), but this is quite a piece of unreserved horseshit all together.

Dumb dumbdumbdumb DUMB! Over reliance on the same CGI effects that made the remake watchable makes this one unwatchable. Don't waste your time. Poor Jeffrey Combs only has a couple minutes of screen time, too :(
