I thought it was pretty good. Not great, but good. Unlike the other film I saw earlier this year dealing with similar themes (MEN), this one kept me enagaged and didn't go too far off the deep end. Best part of the movie was Rebecca Hall's performance. Worth seeing!

Great performance from Rebecca Hall. Kind of goes off the deep end in the final act opening up more questions, but I didn't mind it. Definitely one of the more engaging psychological thrillers I've watched in a while (and without completely cringey decision-making or being overly uncomfortable).

Mash: enjoyed it. Good portrayal of gaslighting gone wrong or someone falling into madness over "losing" her daughter as she moves out and flees the nest. Lot to digest and some memorable scenes. 7.5 Stace felt the ending was a let down and couldn't quite pinpoint what she didn't like. She felt the acting was good though. 5

Resurrection is reliant upon Rebecca Hall convincingly having a psychotic breakdown, which she has perfected at this point, and Tim Roth menacingly controlling every scene he is in. Setting that aside, it's a solid, slow psychological thriller, but there are few revelations to discover along the way, no twists or turns, but many interpretations to ponder afterward.

I honestly have a hard time telling if I liked this or not. It was well made and the acting performances - especially Rebecca Hall - were very good but... I don't know. At times I'd say it was the nice kind of atmospheric, disturbing, slow burn. But then at times I'd feel sort of annoyed by how it's making me feel. And at times it even felt kinda boring.

"Resurrection" is a unique and ambitious thriller with brilliant performances by Rebecca Hall and Tim Roth. While the film's flaws, particularly the confusing finale, prevent it from being a great film, the shocking and memorable sequences make it worth watching. Fans of psychological horror and Rebecca Hall's work will find something to appreciate here.

I completely agree about stellar performances of the the 2 leads. But given most of metaphysical horror does nothing for me, I found the narrative structure here very effective and convincing as well.

First half way better than the second one in its depiction of trauma and the various repercussions of it -- bodily and psychological --, and I'm not quite sure about the ending. I just know everything is compensated by Hall's commanding performance.

Resurrection is an extraordinary psychological horror that opens up the traumatic manipulations and abuses of a barbarian, sadistic sociopath who has emerged from the darkness of the past. Especially the ending is insane, it suits this film. Tim Roth and Rebecca Hall are impeccable.

Takes a lot of cues from Repulsion as a haunting portrait that walks the line between mental breakdown and true body horror. Semans creates a slow-building mood that sometimes works and sometimes feels like tiresome torture for the sake of torture. The ending can be debated endlessly, but I'm not sure I much enjoyed the ride to get us there. It's a well-made, but ultimately dour film.

Someone else was spot on describing it as psychological torture porn. Might add boring, too long and too obvious. Actress playing daughter was very annoying. Hall is freaking out constantly which is tiresome but Roth was pretty great. Overall pretty messy endeavour.

Uzayan, tekrarlayan sekanslarla. Yorucu ve bazı bölümlerde sıkıcı. Oyunculuk yüzünden 75, film olarak düşük.

It's 100 minutes of psychological torture porn and after a while it becomes tiresome. Hall is great but her non-stop freaking out character gets to be annoying.

A decent psychological thriller with a very standard format, but a rather unusual villain in terms of his method of tormenting the protagonist. Though it doesn't do anything spectacular, it also avoids doing anything garish (the surreal ending is warranted I thought). Hall and Roth are really top drawer choices for the leads, which isn't enough to make it a good movie but does make it stand out from the pack.

Hall is really good and I like Roth in this role, but for a thriller it's not very thrilling. A good thriller steadily reveals things, this didn't really have much to reveal. It's solid as a slightly odd drama though, even though some of the dialogue is bad. I thought she was just imagining getting what she wanted at the end but the director said her dreams come true so I'm kinda like... okay, but what's the point? I'm downing this a lot but I wasn't bored.

Hall allows herself to go full Adjani, which contrasts well with Roth’s preternatural calm, but the more Resurrection strays from real-world trauma and violence, the less effective it becomes. By abstracting Margaret’s terror, Semans makes her seem progressively unidentifiable, right up to a macabre ending that completely exits the building. Then again, perhaps Semans means to suggest that certain violations cannot be overcome.
