Like watching an idiot play a resident evil game, which means it's still better than both of the Jovovich sequels.

Now it may be bad, but it's better than the previous adaptation and it's horrid counterparts.

There is only one way you would like this movie, and thats if your a hardcore resident evil fan, and i happen to be one of those people. Ya, the CGI was pretty bad, the voice acting was pretty bad, the story was as predictable as the games, you know, i dont really have anything good to say about this movie, but i had a ton of fun watching it.

Shite! Nothing about this movie is good by any definition. The CG is horrible, the voice sync is anything but, and don't even get me started on the plot. Gets one point for trying.

Although the inexperience of the team in producing movies is obvious from the offset, Degeneration is one of those films that fans of the franchise can't help but feel attatched to. While graphics may be more reminisent of a HD cutscene than anything else, they are detailed and have a nice polished look and feel. I'm not going to pretend that it isn't pretencious, badly acted and exceedingly corny but it's the first to capture the characters and essence of the series. Surprisingly enjoyable.

It's a terrible, terrible movie. There are so many amateur cinematic mistakes it boggles the mind, and that's ignoring the Resident Evil trademarks of contrived and stupid plot, terrible dialog and horrid voice acting because all those are here too. If you've ever wanted proof that Resident Evil was good because you were playing it and not because of the cut scenes then this is it and oh man is it bad.

It's watchable, but doesn't live up to what could've been a chance for Capcom to do a Resident Evil movie right. Claire is as good as always (until they turn her into an idiot halfway into the movie), but they really sucked all of the fun out of Leon. The side characters aren't memorable and the whole thing just comes off being mediocre. Chances are we will never get a Resident Evil movie that does justice to the games.

Resident Evil films don't have a good reputation. So it makes sense that Capcom's best chance would be a CGI movie based on the video game series, taking place within its continuity and using the same characters. The end result is actually pretty watchable. Good movie for fans of the games.

Kind of relies on everyone being extremely stupid, but honestly it's at about the same level of storytelling as the Resident Evil games I've played. Unfortunately you don't get to shoot zombies in the face in this, so it's like an RE game missing the reason you might be playing an RE game.

A little to long and a little to much Leon. Leon is a blank slate that shows no emotion. The animation itself was decent and the monster designs were cool.

Fans fo the Resident Evil videogames will be right at home with this animated film continuing the cannon from the games. Nonfans of the game will get lost in the confusing plot and campish dialogue.

Resident Evil: Degeneration failed to be a great movie, but it did make me want to play more of the Resident Evil games--a series I had only dabbled in previously. The action scenes were humorous, but not in a good way. The animations were poor, despite being motion captured, and while the lip-voice synchronization was good, the faces as a whole felt lifeless. The film as a whole was moderately entertaining, if nothing more than a way for Capcom to bridge the gap between Resident Evil 4 and 5.

This film captures the feel of the games far better than the live action films, it's the story Resident Evil 5 should have had. While it can be a bit cheesy and predictable it's pretty enjoyable and an actual survival horror piece rather than the generic action dross the series has ironically degenerated into.

As a fan of the videogame series, i have to say you should probably avoid this unless you have played the games yourself or are really into zombie flicks.

Ok as a massive fan of Resident Evil (the games that is not the live action Hollywood crap) I really enjoyed this film. This follows the plot line of the games and is set 7 years after the Raccoon City Incident and unites Leon S Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Yes the plot is daft and some of the voice acting was laughable but that didn't stop it being fun. Although you have played the games to enjoy it

Personal Pleasure Scale: Playing RE4 -> Playing every other RE-Game -> Watching Degeneration -> Watching a Resident Evil movie with Milla Jovovich -> Setting myself on fire. Though I'm not so sure about the last two... Take that for what it's worth.

I disagree in many points. That is the first adaption of Capcom's Franchise that put the focus on the Characters. The Score is great and creates some suspense moments especially in the second part of the Movie. The CGI Effects are far away from perfection ( in the close shots for example ) but overall Degeneration fits perfectly between the happenings of Raccoon City. I was really surprised because I hated the 3 Hollywood Movies. Leon S.Kennedy is the best Character in R.E. ever!
