Everyone is united with the idea that last minute was very unnecessary. Beside that, it's gripping story with the perfect lead roel. Christopher Plummer definitely makes his job.

Totally botched the ending, but apart from that a gripping movie addressing some interesting themes (e.g. aging, dementia in the literal and figurative way, dealing with the past...). Great acting and masterful direction - again, except the ending.

The rushed and soapy confrontation scene at the end leaves a bitter taste, but up until then this was a very entertaining grandpaxploitation movie if you don't care about logic too much. Worth seeing for Plummer's performance, that is probably way more subtle and heartfelt than the movie deserves. Very realistic accent too. Has a good supporting role from Dean Norris, who works out real well as a homely boozer turning into nazi in a split second.

Egoyan turning away from his adored "Father-daughter-relationship/portraying young women" sujet is as surprising as the end of the movie

Albeit what is a contender for a "Worst Poster of all Time" award, the film is superb. It provides an interesting twist of the revenge film genre, by looking in depth at the uncomfortable subject matter of identity and dementia. Christopher Plummer's performance is sublime in its subtlety and heart-felt emotion, with Egoyan's equally subtle direction in camera movements and character interactions no less admirable. Very entertaining.

Fun-enough revenger, with an important reminder of how bad bald caps still are.

Good to very good movie ruined by a twist ending. Easily knocks off up to 5 points.

Gets a bit monotonous, picks up a bit of steam, and unsatisfactorily ends. Plummer is fine. Just a mediocre film that I don't think will stay with me long.

W3E1P2S1V1M1A1R2. Hank from Breaking Bad is so awful in his brief interlude that it mars Plummer's ridiculously good job. Premise is fascinating, if a little derivative. And at the level of the actual on-screen action, it is one of the most believable movies i've ever seen. That is, accepting the plot for what it is, the way it actually unfolds is remarkably true to life. No 61-year-old Liam Neeson somehow knuckle punching 90 consecutive people with no ill effect, etc.

Excellent. Other reviews are right about the last minute of the film being superfluous and unnecessary.

Well filmed by Egoyan but there is an unforgivable lack of subtlety in the ending that really takes away from the trippy is he crazy or not revenge thingy.

Slow film then we are thrown into the Dean Norris spooky Nazi fun time pal-around room.

The story I liked, and it's near dead actors brought a a wealth of life experience into this dementia Nazi hunt! But this could have been handled with a lot better care by director Atom Egoyan, making it feel like a 90s TV-movie with a weak reveal stripped of the emotional ballast it should have carried after 70 years living a lie.

Similar to the only other Egoyan I've seen(Calendar) in that memory shapes what we know about ourselves, others and the world around us. Gripping drama for a kinda trite topic. Great use of sound. If they'd ended this one minute earlier it'd be much much better but instead treats the audience like we're unable to process simple plots.
