Hauer and Dacascos in a science fiction film set in an alternative, future Soviet Union, where virtual reality and medical resurrection co-exist with Soviet iconography and machines built from old technology, sounds like a great idea, but as it continues the laboured attempt at a serious plot it becomes tedious. By the final scenes I completely gave up following its plot. It also deserves negative points for a trite reference to the Odessa Stairs sequence from Battleship Potemkin.

Dreary, dull, and threadbare action thriller which lifelessly moves through cliché after cliché, contributing nothing of its own.
