It works as an indie drama following a few characters' lives, and, shockingly enough, it also works as a brutal slasher/revenge flick. No glam, no over-dramatic oversaturated Hollywood-influenced drama, just pure emotion and violence.

An unconventional and a provocative piece of filmmaking, Red White & Blue quite effectively manages to get under your skin. The only thing that it demands in return is your patience and undivided attention. Despite the relentless onslaught of violence in the last act, it never slides down the trodden path of exploitation, which itself is quite an incredible thing to achieve.

Brutal film without any real excitement. But, there is something satisfying about going beyond the limit.

Noah Taylor's performance really stands out in Red, White & Blue pretty much elevating it from the exploitation flick it could have been.

okay at the start when about the woman, but ultimately a tv-drama-cum-torture-flick with a very poor understanding of human motivation, making this a work of empty sadism rather than anything meaningful. it seems as though the director wanted to show some blood-letting on screen, but in order to show critics he wasn't just a fetishist, he had to invent some half-assed reason for the violence - like, i dunno, the main dude had this woman he loved. some hilarious low-budget moments.

A pulpy and predictably gruesome tale that's only saving grace is Noah Taylor's raw performance. Otherwise, this is just trashy fan without the fun.

A film that proves that even well-troden roads of B-horror can still yield a journey that's impossible to turn away from. On paper, it is nothing more than a postmodernist set-piece which attempts to add depth to each character by making them as tragic/miserable as possible. But Rumley approaches each character with loving understanding, seeking humanity even in the dregs. On paper this film is trash, but its existence proves that a talented filmmaker can make even pulp into something special.

Allegory for america's violent, revenge-driven international policies...Erica is israel, the band members are hamas and hezbollah, etc.

Once again, Rumley defies my expectations. Like his previous work, I went in expecting something completely different and was instead treated with an emotionally engaging and unpredictable thriller. It goes a bit off the rails around the last twenty minutes, and Rumley should probably learn that silence is often more effective, but overall this is another great addition to a promising director's body of work.

Every character here is either mortally diseased, a severely traumatized amoral sociopath or just murderously psychotic (or more than one of the above), making this movie an unintended farce. It's not that bad in other ways, so there's still some morbid fascination in watching the ensuing mess. Let's call it an unconvincing film that's nevertheless refreshingly different from most that deal in sick violence and sadism.

A film that doesn't know what it wants to be. A drama about a troubled, promiscuous girl? Great. But you know what would make it better? Torture porn! Yes!!! Okay, the movie's not too bad actually. It kept me interested. But I can't help but be of the opinion that the last act felt out of place.

Great. What could be the difference between a trashy skank, 4 decent guys in a band and a colder than ice MOFO? One of them's revenge is righteous. This is a polished film, nicely shot, great performances and absolutely fantastic direction. Pair that with an impeccably paced fine plot full of twists you'll never see coming and you have here an instant classic. Do yourself a favor and watch this. Highly Recommended.
